Article: APEC's 18th Automotive Dialogue Forum Talked about Competitiveness in Automotive Industry

Yogyakarta, InfoPublik – The 18th APEC Automotive Dialogue started last Wednesday (4/24) in Royal Ambarrukmo Hotel, Yogyakarta. The forum was attended by APEC economies such as United States, China, Japan, Korea, Thailand, Malaysia, Australia, and Indonesia.

Deputy Governor for Yogyakarta Sri Paku Alam IX opened the event, representing Governor HE Sultan Hamengku Buwono X who can’t make it to the event.
Some of the issues surrounding the development of automotive industry discussed are tax regulations, SMEs development, energy saving and development of hybrid cars.
Industry Ministry’s Secretary General Anshari Bukhari hoped the forum able to synergize all policies and cooperation among governments and businesses, to improve the competitiveness of automotive industry in Asia Pacific region.

Meanwhile, Indonesian delegation Budi P Soesilo, also known as head of Cars & Motors Tools Industry, explained that Indonesia should seize this opportunity to improve quality and add value. Indonesia should be trying to improve the capabilities of local companies, in order to facilitate the participation of greater export value.


The 18th APEC Automotive Dialogue will take place until April 26, 2013 closed with a tour program for all delegates to Borobudur Temple. The next APEC Automotive Dialogue Forum will be held in September 2013 in Jakarta, ahead of the APEC Leaders' Meeting in Bali, October 2013. (L.vi)
